Getting Started

First steps, onboarding, and finding your way around Trac.

How do I onboard my team quickly?: Head to Squad → Players to add your squad with our quick add form. Once saved, use Members to invite coaches, assistants, and parents.
Where can I find the main areas of Trac?: Squad for players and staff, Fixtures for scheduling and results, Availability for who can play, Training for sessions, and Statistics for the numbers. The iPhone app has the same sections under a bottom tab bar, with the rest under More.
How do I bulk import fixtures from FA Fulltime?: Fixtures → Fast Bulk Upload. Copy your fixture table from fulltime.thefa.com and paste it in. Trac works out home and away, the match type, and skips fixtures you already have. One thing to watch: it matches your team by NAME against the FA listing, so if the FA spells your team differently, those rows are skipped. The importer lets you correct the name inline before you commit — check the count it reports against the number you pasted.
Is there an app, or is it all in the browser?: Both. Trac runs in any browser as a progressive web app, which is what parents use — they never need to install anything. There is also an iPhone app for managers and coaches, built for the touchline: live match logging, the squad, training, availability and statistics, one-handed. Bulk import, onboarding and club admin stay on the website, where a bigger screen helps.

Squad & Members

Player records, guardians, and staff management.

How do I invite parents or guardians?: Squad → Members → Invite Member. That gives you an 8-character team code — there is no email invite. Send the code however you already talk to parents. They sign up, enter it, and you approve them and link them to their child, which also lets them in. Parents need no app: everything works in a browser.
Can I track player medical notes and safeguarding info?: Yes. Each player profile supports medical notes, emergency contacts, injuries, and safeguarding flags so you have critical information pitch-side.
Do I have to invite parents or players?: No. Trac works perfectly well if you just want to manage your squad and coaching staff. You can always invite parents later if you change your mind.
When do I need parental consent for under-18 players?: Only for what leaves the club. Consent controls whether a child's NAME appears on things you share outside it — a public team sheet, a match link you send round, a player-of-the-match poll. Without it they appear as "Player #7". It has never controlled running your team. Picking them, recording lineups and minutes, tracking attendance, keeping your own notes and reading your own statistics all work exactly the same either way, and you and your staff always see real names when you are signed in.
How do I get parental consent?: Send a link. Open Squad, tap the consent badge on the player's row, and choose Create the link. You get a 6-digit code and a message ready to send however you already talk to parents. They tap it, type the code, and answer — no account, no app, no password. The result shows on the squad screen straight away. A parent saying no is a complete answer, not a job left undone: that player simply stays a shirt number on anything you share. The same link keeps working, so they can change their mind later without going through you. Parents who do have an account can also answer from the Player Portal.

Match Day & Reports

What is the quickest way to log match events?: Open Fixtures → select your lineup → Start Live Match. Our one-handed match logger lets you capture goals, substitutions, and outstanding moments in under three seconds. Everything syncs automatically.
Do I get match reports automatically?: Yes. As soon as the final whistle goes you can generate an AI-assisted match report highlighting scorers, assists, key stats, and coach notes. Share the report with parents in a single tap.

Training & Development

Sessions, attendance tracking, and development plans.

How do I track attendance and session notes?: Visit Training → Sessions, open a session, and use Attendance to mark players as present, late, excused, or absent. You can rate effort, add notes, and review trends in the Training Analytics dashboard.
Can I plan recurring sessions?: Yes. When creating a session choose a recurring cadence and Trac will build the series for you. Players receive invites and you can adjust availability for each date.

Parents, Players & Communication

Availability requests, portals, and live updates.

How do availability requests work?: Send availability checks from Fixtures or Training individually or in bulk. Share the generated link or PIN in your existing chat groups and families respond in their browser. Their responses flow straight into your lineup builder when you pick the squad.
Can parents follow matches without installing anything?: Absolutely. Trac is a progressive web app—parents can watch live events, read match reports, and review player progress from any browser.

Analytics & Insights

Statistics, influence scores, and performance tracking.

Where do I see player statistics?: Statistics, split into Team and Players. Team has the season record and every match; Players has scorers, chance creators, minutes, partnerships and the full table. Open any player for their own appearances, goals, assists and awards. Two numbers carry the player side. Per 60 is how much someone contributes in an hour on the pitch, so a regular and a substitute compare fairly. Share is how much of everything the squad did came from that player — add them up and you get 100%. Anyone with too little recorded reads "not enough recorded" rather than a misleading zero.
Do you track minutes and Player of the Match awards?: Yes. Log minutes via the match report or Fixture Minutes Alert tool. Assign POTM directly from a fixture and it will appear in player profiles and statistics.

Account & Support

Connectivity, subscriptions, and reaching the team.

What happens if I lose signal at the pitch?: Trac needs a connection to save a match event. Events are not queued up and sent later, so if you are somewhere with no signal, log what you can on paper and add it afterwards — the match screen lets you enter events against any minute after the game, and you can correct or delete anything you got wrong by tapping it in the feed. Offline logging is something we want to add; it does not work today and we would rather say so than have you find out at a cold touchline.

What does Trac cost?: Trac is free forever for running a team — squad, fixtures, availability, training, live match logging and your own statistics. Premium is £19 a year for a team and adds AI match reports, formations and the full analytics suite. Every team gets 30 days free to try it, and you can cancel any time; access continues until the year you have paid for runs out. It is per team, so a club running several sides pays for whichever ones want it.
